Finn Power Press Brake
The Finn Power/Safan Press Brakes are not super common, but we run into them regularly. Along with the turret punches. This 6-Axis back gauge positions on Bosch Rexroth based Linear Way Guide Rails, Sliders, and Ball Screws.
Finn Power Back Gauge
The Finn Power Press Brakes use and interesting mix of belt drives and ball screws. All of which are exposed to dust and debris from manufacturing processes running around it. It is critical that these CNC Motion Components are cleaned and lubricated regularly.
Finn Power Linear Way Guide Rails on Back Gauge
As we found the Back Gauge X-Axis Ball Screw and Linear Way Guide Rails as we started inspecting the machine. While it's dirty right now, one can already see and diagnose some of the issues the operator was having with the X-Axis. But it's not completely obvious and clear until you clean off the crud.
Drive belts for Back Gauge
While the Accurpress Back Gauges utilize a toothed belt drive system for moving the twin ballscrews of the X-Axis in an out, the Finn Power uses it on the motion positioning of the Z1 and Z2 Axis. There is also a common Rexroth Linear Way Guide rail with slide blocks.
Bosch-Rexroth Linear Motion Rails on Finn Power Press Brake
The X-Axis Linear Guide Rails and Ball Screw are cleaned and inspected. If you look carefully, the slider on the Right side of the picture is at a slightly different plane and angle than the rail it rides on. The problem behind this operators stuttering X-Axis was a damaged Linear Way Guide Block which was not rolling smoothly on the rail. This was relatively easy to find, if one does periodic cleaning of the motion system components.
